This record is for Baptisia bracteata in the broad sense recognized by Kartesz (1994, 1999) which includes, as varieties, var. leucophaea and var. laevicaulis. Weakley et al. (2023) recognize a more narrow concept of B. bracteata with B. leucophaea as a distinct species which includes the variety laevicaulis.
